Hand Building Course
May 13th, 20th, and June 3rd (6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.)
In this 3-week course, you will build, decorate and glaze a large coil built botanical vessel.
On the first class, Olivia will be demonstrating coil building techniques for faster hand building. How to make and attach flattened large coils, and how to make, attach, and pinch more height with round large coils. These methods help to get more height faster with coils.
The second class will focus on different techniques used to create organic textures that preserve and highlight the artist's touch in fingermarks. Methods of adding organic textures to a surface, making botanical elements such as leaves, vines, petals will be demonstrated.
The third class will be hand-painting your bisque-fired piece.
** Please note, an additional $25 materials fee needs to be purchased prior to the first class. This fee covers the cost of clay, glazes, firings, shared tools, etc… Here is link to purchase: Materials Fee
