Based in Staffordshire, England, Mark has spent 37 years creating, exhibiting, and selling his distinct, high-contrast black and white ceramics. Mark will share his unconventional journey from textile design to ceramic surface decoration, discussing his creative influences and his passion for handmade pottery.
In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore Mark’s unique design processes, learn how he designs and cuts precise paper resist stencils using his “magic paper” method and try his various slip trailing techniques.
Every student will apply these skills to decorate their own tile mural using the custom-engineered Mark Dally Slip Trailer—a globally acclaimed tool used by potters in 36 countries. A trailer is included with the materials fee to keep for future projects!
